Advocating for strong national policies to align with the International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes

Activities

  • Continue to raise awareness of the high prevalence of promotions for breastmilk substitutes and commercially produced complementary foods in Senegal and the possible negative impact of this promotion.
  • Assist with applying provisions of World Health Organization guidance in new national policy development to prevent inappropriate marketing of foods for infants and young children in Senegal
  • Communicate with health facilities and health providers to ensure that optimal care and information is provided to pregnant women, infants and young children
  • Conduct a study on unhealthy diets and nutritional outcomes among young children in urban Senegal
