Infant and young child nutrition advocates are invited to participate in a series of webinars to inform and prepare those interested in or attending the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU) meeting in Berlin from the 26th to the 30th November 2018.
On the agenda of the meeting is the revision of the Codex Standard on Follow-up Formula (CX 156-1987). This is an important opportunity for country governments to reiterate their commitment to breastfeeding—a practice that has the potential to save the lives of over 800,000 young children every year.
It is critical that countries attend the meeting or at the very least submit a conference room document giving their stated opinion. These webinars will set the context for the issues being addressed (Webinar 1), give the evidence for the necessary actions (Webinar 2) and provide basic information on how Codex works in order to assist delegations attending the meeting (Webinar 3).
