The World Health Organization’s International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes sets out restrictions on the marketing of infant formula and other products which replace mothers’ milk. The ARCH Project supports countries’ efforts to enforce and monitor the BMS Code at the national level. We have compiled our published resources on the BMS Code below so that partners and advocates for optimal infant and young child feeding can access them easily:
- Policy Brief: Protecting Breastfeeding to 24 Months or Beyond – This brief highlights the importance of restricting the promotion of breastmilk substitutes through strong policy.
- Policy Brief: World Health Assembly Resolution on the Inappropriate Promotion of Food for Infants and Young Children – A policy brief that provides background and guidance on advocating against breastmilk substitute marketing.
- Webinar Series: A Civil Society Guide to the International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes and New Global Guidance on Marketing Infant Foods – A three part video series produced in conjunction with The Scaling Up Nutrition Civil Society Network
